Keukenhof Post I — Tulips and Romance

I do not understand what some people mean by the word ‘romantic’.
Why is a park full of brightly-coloured tulips romantic?
Why do lovers feel the need to photograph each other among the tulips? Seriously, what is so romantic about the fact that mankind has managed to create all sorts of differently coloured uniformly shaped tulip heads? It is as romantic to me that the fact that man has created a plethora of weird-looking dogs to his enjoyment. It just shows that people get bored and they cannot accept things as they are.

Is it that shaping nature according to one’s fancies reminds people of how they hope to shape their partners into something more beautiful and interesting than they are?

Maybe it is the beauty of tulips or flowers seen in abundance.

What do you think?
